Do you guys think there is any real difference in ideas between adaptation and evolution in nature?  I'm in this case talking about plants and animals, and not humans because we were created in God's image and have not in any way changed over the 8000-10000 years in which humans have existed.

I think that the only difference between the two terms adaptation and evolution is the time period which they are used to describe, in which that plant or animal exists.

I see adaptation as the change of a particular organism to adapt to an environment, and evolution as the change of a specie of organism over some amount of generations to adapt to some environment.

Does anyone disagree?  Agree?  Why?
